Did Jane's ever list the Avrocar?

The Avrocar was a ground effect vehicle, the Moller 200 was listed in Jane's Aircraft as a flying saucer.

Ah, the new Ajax fighting vehicle. You can always trust the MOD to back a winner.

It's more of an R-WMIK or Jackal replacement if you ask me, and probably more practical than either.

It was designed to fly at 10,000 feat.

In actual practice, as you say, about 90cm was it's safe ceiling - that must have been a teensy bit disappointing to its designers.

Very handy for not spilling from the coffee holder when going up really steep hills. Or replacing the exhaust without a jack.

A slightly less impractical, but not pointless, one-off, as a tribute to the Count Rossi 917. Sole customer, one Roger Penske (very fittingly). Sort-of-road legal (special dispensation has been granted to run it in France, and the EPA has done the same so it can be used in the US).
