1980's Pulse autocycle, appeared as a "car of the future" in the 1989 film Back to the Future Part II.

"Put some glitter on it, can't make it worse"

That appears to have been the approach by the previous/ previous+1 owner of the Chrysler Ypsilon I picked up at the weekend.

It's been covered in stickers / a Chrysler bonnet badge / door and sill edgings / other stick-on stuff but there's no bonnet strut / locking wheel nut keys (it has two different types on the front and back) / a bulb needs changing / faulty air-con / faulty Bluetooth / there's a nail in a tyre plus two almost-bald tyres.

Underneath it's a nice little car and has been looked after. They're jobs which, when sorted, will just make it work better.

The 'go faster' bonnet and probably either/both side stripes on what's basically a 1.2 litre Fiat are coming off though although I've a feeling the bonnet badge may be bolted on. Note that some of the stickers and stripes appear to be covering scratches and dents.

I have two spare sets of 'go faster' stripes which were supplied with the car should anyone want them

The joys of remote shopping.

True. It's as if someone put "Chrysler Ypsilon sticker" into AliExpress/Temu.

But ... the bonnet go-faster stripes and emblem are now off. I was correct in thinking they hide marks - in this case a couple of chips and a tiny dent. However, the side stripe has lifted the laquer, so those need to stay on. I've also removed a couple of other bits that were stuck on.

Funny how people want to personalise things. I prefer to anonymise as much as possible.

Hey, ho funny old world.

Reminds me of a 205 "Trio" I had, trio because it had 3 stripes down the side but they didn't improve on the 954cc engine. Bit like cycling; quick downhill but decreased in speed going up uphil.

Slightly over-engineered methinks 😂

Some arrived today, as a roll of tape

The 13-pin mounting bracket also arrived today, so it was fitted, & the (now unrequired) 7-pin socket section of the bumper-guard/hitch-guide was cut off
I also tried to wire in another 'indicator beeper', as the one that's part of the 'bypass relay' is very quiet where it is, hidden behind a trim panel
I might drill a few holes in the trim (it's behind a removable cover) to try to allow it to be heard
