As originally built it did have a Meteor engine but after it caught fire it was rebuilt with a mk35 Merlin engine (as well as the shooting brake body)

Nah it'll run on anything.................Paraffin probably, John ran it on 2 star petrol (in 72) but that is without the supercharger. So many people know nothing about petrol, the higher 'octane' rating it has means it is more difficult to ignite..................this stops early 'detonation' or 'pinking' (pre-ignition)...................100 Octane fuel (Avgas) is only needed at 20,000 feet with 50 psi of boost pressure.

My Dad was RAF ground crew during The War

apparently 100 Octane fuel is great at cleaning oil of hanger floors when Air Vice Marshall's are due to visit!
