We went out in the park tonight as it was a beautiful summers evening. There were lots of other people walking around but at least 70% of them were walking around with their faces stuck in their mobile phones playing Pokémon Go.

Couples both with phones, not talking or enjoying the scenery, but playing Pokémon Go. What a bunch of muppets.

If only there was some easier way to find them. Maybe make them appear as cartoon characters in an augmented reality world view?

I was walking in the park enjoying the evening sunshine on one of those rare summers evenings that we have had this year. While the Pokémon mobs were not talking to anyone with their faces transfixed by their mobile screens

Someone mentioned Zombies. That's exactly what it looked like "The day of the zombies."

If there was a huge prize to be won I may understand it but there isn't. This is what they surely must call Unsocial media.

Hasn't prevented Nintendo's share price falling though.

I was out with Mr Summerdays yesterday, he was playing it and I was accompanying him. We rode about 7 miles on our bikes, that's the only time this year he has been on a bike, we chatted and watched others in groups wandering around and then stopping at certain places and still chatting as they looked down at their phone. You don't need to look at your phone continuously, it buzzes if there is something to look for. He's also discovered more about the local area, as he tends to do less exploring than me, so hadn't been on many of the roads we used.

I am just seeing lots of people out and about. We've been out for evening walks I think every day of this week, I've seen various ages playing it, parents and children, met 3 lads on bikes, chatted to a few of them. I think it's better than being inside attached to a computer.

Most of the players will be getting extra exercise through walking around, it also rewards players for walking certain distances in order to hatch eggs and the "poke-stops" shop things are at real life memorials and places of interest so they may learn a little too.

To be honest I cant see why it's getting such bad press, it's so much better than these kids sitting inside playing on a games consoles and no more antisocial than the candy-crush app phenomenon.

Yes it's not jumpers for goalposts but at least the kids outside again.
