So, last week I was cycling up the (shared) pavement by the Bricklayers Arms and coming to the ped/cycle crossing and noticed the traffic was stopped at the red light. At the front was a police van with 2 policemen sat up front. Then alongside comes a cyclist and casually ambles through the red light on his way.
I've seen this kind of thing happen a lot under the very noses of the police and it would sometimes be nice if they could maybe put the do-dah on for a quick woop-woop or signal in some other way that indicates they'd seen said offence without landing themselves with the paperwork of issuing a fine... But my point is really more about that people only really seem to do the right thing now because it is in their nature to do so, the law is no deterrant and there are no consequences:
