From his pic he looked like he could actually have been a fairly handy cyclist as he didn't appear fat like many senior police. I take it a superintendent is pretty senior? I would guess the investigation of his death will be carried out very thoroughly. I wouldn't like to be in the moton's shoes.

RIP the cyclist.

I know that road very well and its hard to imagine how this happened as visibility is good and the road is very straight near the entrance to the windfarm visitor centre.

I don't know that road but from a quick look on Google I'd agree, that the last place I would of expected a collision, I can only see one bend on the road an it looks up and down in places but it doesn't look that bad and when its not misty the visibility looks good. RIP

Not saying they are to blame but are those cycle lanes still there ? it seems an odd road to have cycle lanes

RIP

I cycle over the road fairly regularly and cars are constantly driving in the cycling lanes - there are sections where the road is supposed to be singletrack for cars with a cycle lane either side but as it is just a line in the road alot of drivers ignore it and carry on as if the cycle track doesn't exist. They are also often going at a much faster speed than they would be normally go on a singletrack road if they didnt have the 'escape' route (for them at least) at the side which the cycle track offers.
