Unfortunately, alot of grass routes police officers are seriously ill informed when it comes to matters of the law and try to bluff their way out of situations.

I had two very unsatisfactory dealings with the police last year, once when I complained about a driver who almost ran my son and other children down whilst reversing blindly along a pavement, and secondly when I was hit in my car by a driver who left the scene.

Both officers I dealt with made a complete cock up in how I was dealt with, in the case of the complaint against the driver who almost knocked the children down he was very clearly a petrol head who was biased in favour of drivers rights to do whatever they want no matter what.

I now have absolutely no faith in the police what so ever.

The problem with statements like this is that it is the equivalent of a motorist saying they saw a couple of cyclists jump red lights and therefore all cyclists are law breaking lycra louts.

Same section of road, opposite direction, same driving instructor for me, I was overtaking another cyclist. Most notably I argued with him after the student did it and I was told by the instructor that cyclist had to stay in the cycling lane.

It was in the short period I had a camera, but the camera had unfortunately failed and I didn't feel like recovering it from the FAT, I should have done now.

These people are hilarious. Regardless of where anyone thinks any cyclist should be, there is never an excuse for taking liberties with other peoples' safety.

According to the officer that dealt with the guy that close-passed me, the driver shat himself when she turned up at his house

I know, but sad to say every dealing have had with the police has been difficult and badly managed, so I start off with low expectations.
