Actually I was down in Cambridge a few weeks back. Saw coppers stop a cyclist with no lights at night. They had to pay a heavy fine or buy a set of bike lights off the coppers.

That just reminded me that I saw two cops on bikes last week with no lights. They just smiled as I shook my head at them.

you should have asked to take their photo as u thought it was great to see cops on bikes, they would have agreed, then you could have made a citizens arrest with evidence

I wish they would enforce the use of lights in Birmingham - mainly for cyclists but also for drivers. Had a chap on an MTB yesterday at 7pm dressed in black and riding towards me on my side of the road - only saw him when illuminated by the lights of an oncoming car!

What has the fact that she was using her radio got to do with it....As usual half a story.
Did anybody find out why she had no lights on. Was she on a road or riding down a cycle path? What are we expected to do. Get off our bikes everytime we use the radio.
