Political Correctness: Jediism & the Chav

Mr Jarvis, who has been out of work for two years after fracturing both heels, had visited the Jobcentre to enquire about his disability benefits.

'I was told by security staff to remove my hood. I was told, not asked. I said, "It's my religion, I'm a Jedi Knight",' said Mr Jarvis, 31.

Got him:

# Jedi Padawan/Apprentice: A Youngling that successfully completes their respective level of training undergoes Padawan apprentice training under the tutelage of a Jedi Knight or Jedi Master. As a rite of passage and the final test before the trials to knighthood, Padawans must build their own lightsabers. In the Old Republic, padawans usually wore a hair braid on the right side of their head which was removed with a lightsaber upon attaining knighthood.
# Jedi Knight: Disciplined, experienced Jedi may become full-fledged Jedi Knights once they have completed "the trials" that test candidates' skills, knowledge, and dedication. The three tests are usually known as The Trial of Skill, The Trial of Spirit, and the Trial of Knowledge.

Get him into court an ask for details of his tutor / master, ask him to provide the light saber he has built and then show that his dishonesty, and lackof integrity has shown him unsuitable to be a Jedi Knight.

ffs whatever next, people claiming that their religion is based on the writings of j. k. rowling? "actually it's not a hoodie; it's an invisibility cloak that's on the blink and i can't afford to get it fixed; hence my visit to your establishment. i'll take an auror's job if you've got any"…

star wars was a good film, especially for its time, and the sequels are not bad either. ditto the original star trek series or, for that matter, dr who (at least latterly). what all these things have in common is that they are entertainment, not lifestyle choices. i had star wars wallpaper as a child, and a lightsabre. i was happy to leave them in my childhood, where they belong. and i don't expect my son's obsession with dr who to inform his philosophy much beyond year 6 either…

WE have had a couple of weirder ones..... mainly due to the Insular Order of Druids.

There was one guy (called Merlin Michel Williams) who used to shop around in Portsmouth wearing a Broadsword!

There have also been several others of the order arrested for carrying knives of various sizes.

at least druidism has been around for a long time, fringe religion er it may be.

a religion based on a sci-fi film is the biggest load of saddo bollocks i've ever heard. i'm pleased to say that no-one of my acquaintance speaks klingon or claims to be a jedi knight…

No dafter than the raft of other religions.

The fact that any particular sky pixie has been in business longer than another doesn't make it any more plausible.

well i enjoyed them, although i've not bothered with the recent prequels.

aha, my mistake, i thought it was the "prequels" you were referring too ;)

yes, the originally trilogy is good, prequels are bloody shocking.
