Something wasnt right...perhaps it was my state of mind.

-Struggled to get over 20mph:sad:

-Jumped a red light at the bottom of constitution hill... by accident (I know its a double set of lights...what was I thinking!)...I've deleted the footage in shame.

-Felt old and uncomfortable, my achilles tendon is playing up and this made me constantly aware of my how fragile I am:sad:

-Weather wasn't as warm nor as sunny as last week so my feet were freezing:cry:

wasn't the worst ride but just not very good by recent standards.

I felt the same yesterday morning. Some of that was my seat had moved and was tilted up.

This morning was the first time in quite a while that the wind was back to its normal morning headwind southerly, and yet had a great ride (nearly didn't bother as felt a bit grotty this morning)

Rain predicted this afternoon I think, so got that to look forward too!

We all have days like that... I wouldn't let it get you down. I think I had pretty much a whole winter like that!!
Even a subtle headwind can make all the difference to your mood.
It's certainly 'back to earth with a bump' to be back in the fleece lined tights after shorts a week or so ago, but we've only just hit April! Things will look up shortly.

My commute yesterday was bad...

The first half of my commute felt like I was pulling an elephant behind me, then I realised that my wheel was wonky and the rim was rubbing against the brakes..
Then when I had just got out of the shower at work, the fire alarm went off. "please leave the building immeditely at the nearist exit" :stop:

I know what you mean JJ - I had something similar today. Wasn't really up for it I guess and the bike felt unusually heavy as did my legs- weird as I was carrying the normal weight. Faced a stiff headwind as well (the kind that only blows on you but somehow doesn't move any surrounding branches or leaves) and I just know it's due to switch around 180 degrees to the NE just before I head home later. At least I'm going for a pint first!

Cheers all.

I expect the home journey shall be better than I expect... as my expectations are relatively already low and the ankle is still playing up a little.

Its been raining on and off all afternoon too which never helps to keep my feet warm, unless I have my overshoes...which I dont!

Must try to resist the temptation to take the motorbike tomorrow!

There are loads of flu and cold type bugs around at the moment. I am suffering from one now. I do notice that the first sign I have a cold is that my cycling seems more difficult and I am more tired afterwards.

Got a little wet, popped into the LBS to pick up some spare overshoes (you can never have too many!) so my feet and hands were cosy.

other than that the Achilles thing is still giving me a little discomfort, I noticed when I got home that its quite swollen so will need to take it easy tomorrow (the rain should take care of that) and not push too hard until I can get to a boots for some anti-inflammitories.

hopefully tomorrow will be better despite the rain.

much better today...funny how it goes. Achilles heel still took over 15 miles to warm up though so I was a little slower than usual.

I think I must have just been suffering from general cycle-fatigue, I've managed to ride every day for the last 10 days or so (except a run home on the scooter)...going for my first full fortnight!
