I had thought it was a shame I'm busy on sunday, after seeing the forecast I'm quite glad I am. Have fun!

If the forecast is true and it is a poor day weather wise the ride will be postponed, best bet is to wait till Saturday and see what's occuring.

Fair enough - I organised a forum ride over the Trough a couple of years ago and the weather really turned on us. It was so bad, we abandoned the original plan to go over Waddington Fell and took a shortcut back to Spring Wood.

It now seems that the Weather Gods will be kind to us - a big band of heavy rain over Ireland and another over the SE of England with our ride in the NW being spared!

As Kevin (tubbycyclist) has just reminded me - Don't forget to put your clocks back tonight or you will be turning up an hour early and have a long wait for everybody else to arrive!

Colin, conflicting weather reports here for me...

Cloudy and wet, with spells of mostly light rain falling at times throughout the day, in a light southeasterly breeze. Becoming drier later, though remaining cloudy.

Kevin is picking me up at 09:00 so I'd guess we will be at Spring Wood at about 09:50. He said he'd probably still like to do it even if there are a few showers. To be honest, I'm okay with showers too - it's non-stop torrential rain that I can't stand.

I was going to put the route on the GPS anyway, even though I think I can remember the route from previous rides round there.

I can't do it, rain or shin,e I'm afraid !

Just back from a weeks MTBing in the Lakes, jobs to do at home.

Hope you have a good one, and the weather gods smile on you.

"May the wind always come from your rear" or something like that.

A week in the Lake District on a MTB sounds great - catch you next time Alun.

Russ - I was just going over the route before transferring it to my GPS. It appears to go off road after Oakenclough and then goes round to Bleasdale. Is that correct and okay for road bikes? Google Streetview doesn't go up there and it looks like it might just be a farm track through the woods. I'm assuming that it is a mistake and so I have followed the road instead, but if you really want us to go that way, I'll change the route back again.

Window weather report...

It looks to have rained earlier, there is very little wind (slight breeze), it's grey and overcast but not the type that looks to be bearing heavy rain for some time, probably light rain later as forecasted.

As for myself I feel not 100% got a slight headache and congestion, still going to make the effort but I won't be hurtling around (not that was the plan anyways).

Oh and I haven't been on the bike for over a week as well!

I reckon we might get a few showers but hopefully nothing too bad. See you soon.

PS I've only done 19 miles on the bike since our last forum ride!

Thanks for the lift tc and thanks for waiting after virtually every climb Rammylad and Sysagent. It was nice getting home still able to walk for once!

Thankfully, we only had a little drizzle after the cafe stop at Chipping. We caught a couple of glimpses of the sun and it was pretty mild for this time of the year.
