It appears that Muse, those musical desperados, have been smoking on stage. The management at the Ron Laver Arena, (Rod was playing tennis) are outraged that Muse flaunted their anti-smoking policy.

Heavens to Murgatroyd! What's wrong with young people today? In my youth 'bands' confined themselves to biting the heads of chickens and lashing the singer with an electrified whip. Standards have slipped!

When I saw them they were far more extreme, puking everywhere and the audience feasting on their 'projections' and then snogging each other...

...Yes "if Muse sick be the food of love...play on."

Since even the tiny bit of social mobility there was in this country came to a halt, the young rich have seen areas previously open to bright working-class youth become as mindlessly theirs as a trust fund. The Word magazine noted recently that – while fewer than one in 10 British children attends a fee-paying school – 60 per cent of rock music chart acts are now ex-public school, compared with one per cent 20 years ago.

Not strictly music related but in a similar vein - a chap I know works for a production outfit that was funded through film council money.

Part of the remit being young film makers and social mobility - this chap told me that he was so fed up with the same hardcore of tarquins and gemimas constantly being put forward for placements and projects that he stopped advertising them externaly - most of them were just hipsters who thought it was their "right" to have a job in the media - qualifications not seeming to be an issue to them.
