I used to eat porrige in my teenage days and liked it, but I tried it last year for the first time in what must be 30 odd years and just couldn't stomach it. I remembered how to make it but after trying it, I just couldn't understand how I liked it all those years ago. :becool:

Take some old newspaper, tissue and cardboard. Soak until mushy, heat & serve.

That's what porridge tastes like to me - vile, vile, VILE muck. Hated it as a kid, and tried it again recently as my tastes have changed a lot since then. It was still as gut-wrenchingly awful as I remembered it. :becool:

This thread has got the juices running good and proper.

Brekkie on the morrow is going to be large bowl of P with salt crust and 2 fried eggs on top - manner from heaven.

Ah, its "fortified", possibly with seven vitamins and minerals if it's like Rice Crispies et al. I see what you mean now.

I simply cannot believe that no one has yet chimed in with a "and the porridge?" line.
