I put the Porridge into a bowl and add boiling water, then stir until any lumps are gone and zap it in the microwave until it's about to boil over. After letting it cool I eat it as it is and only add some honey or banana on rare occassions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Half milk, half water, a pinch of salt, a teaspoon full of brown sugar, a sprinkling of raisins and a dribble of honey. I always use a pan instead of a microwave, probably just talking myself into thinking it tastes better. Will have to try soaking it overnight though. Oh and toasted walnuts on top if you're feeling extra decadent.

Jumbo rolled oats, 1/2 cup oats to 1 and 1/2 cups water/milk, good pinch of salt, bring to boil in pan, stirring, simmer, stirring for 4 minutes, add sugar to taste. Let it cool, eat.

My father used to mix the ingredients oats, salt and boiling water/milk mix into a thermos, leave it overnight and it was ready in the morning. I tried it but found the texture to be too soft. I like the "bite" of the jumbo rolled oats.

Used to make it with milk but I was getting through so much milk I tried water. It wasn't so nice, then I tried water and soaking overnight. Much better.

Pretty much eat the stuff all the time now. Except when the bakery has croissants. Or at the weekend when I poach some eggs or something.

oats in bowl, boiling water onto oats, stir. voila.
Sometimes add a little milk to make it taste better and I usually have golden syrup as well

One measure of oats, one measure of milk, one measure of water works best for me, if I'm in a hurry I use boiled water from the kettle after I've made coffee although this doesn't give such a smooth texture. And a dollop of raspberry jam mixed in once it's in the bowl. ;)

I don't eat it myself but I make it for Crackle1 with Soy milk and he adds a mixture of stewed apple and blueberry. When I did eat it, it was just milk and porridge oats.

Cup of oats, bit under two cups of water + pinch of salt.

Microwave until it's heated and thickened & serve with sugar and tinned cream.

If I'm feeling hardcore*, its whole oat groats (just the oat seed, not cut or flattened, or messed about with), strip of kombu (or pinch of seasalt) and a few raisins all soaked overnight and cooked for 30 mins in the morning.
If I'm feeling wimpy, its the same but with pinhead oats( whole oat groats chopped up a bit )which is creamier and a bit easier to chew.

*in this context means feeling like chewing for 20 mins...

Inspired by this thread I had porridge for breakfast Saturday.

Got a cracking good pony out of it this morning!
