Porthmadog rides

I'm heading to Porthmadog near the end of July and wondered if there are any rides I should try.

Look for a leisurely 40-50 miler, probably MTB but could consider taking the pug as well.

I haven't taken my bike to that area yet, but there are some good options for on-road around the area. You could plan a route out to Abersoch, returning to Porthmadog via the north side of the Lleyn peninsula. I also see many heroic types going up and over the Llanberis Pass by Snowdon. Cake needed for that one! You're also not far from the Llon Eifon trail, a tarmaced ex railway line that leads to Caernarfon for a more gentle ride out.
