Portsmouth to Bilbao to Andalucia.

We hope to be traveling from Portsmouth to Bilbao on Britany Ferries and then on to Andalucia. We have never done this journey before so need any advice that you have.

I am not too worried about the driving (sat navs are wonderful) But not too sure as to which ferry service and timing to use. The distance to cover in Spain is approx. 650 miles. Maybe possible to complete in two days? I hope that we will be able to find somewhere for an overnight stay. Are there places such as Premier Inns or Travel Lodges close to the motorways?

We have had various overseas holidays but they have always been packages of different types. Having just retired we are looking for more of an adventure. Hoping this could be it.

Depends how hardy you are driving, but that could be done in a day. I did Leicester to Venice in a day, but that might have been speeding a teensy weensy little bit here and there on the bike, and In was a lot younger and dumber.

HaHa, when we are younger we feel anything is possible but as we get older..........................................
