I know we are all keen to buy top quality components for the cheapest price but I do sometimes wonder where some of the stuff on ebay comes from.

Last week I bid on some new Dura Ace calipers which at £30 were a bargain . They sold to someone else for £38
This week I noticed exactly the same calipers for sale from the same seller.

hello I thought I bet he gets one of his mates to bid the item up and ended up buying it back. I checked his previous sales and was amazed to find that he had sold no less than 5x Dura Ace rear calipers in the past 2-3 weeks

I can't believe these could all be ledgit. Its a private sale and the items have no box or retail packing etc.

I've seen that seller's stuff before alot of times and most of it seem's to all be revolving around the same items. I've never brought off him, so cant comment, but as he's just down the road from me, anything I would, I would pick up..

Bike shops go bust, wholesalers offload surplus stuff....I'm not saying either of these is the case, but they very easily could be. I got a brand new Campagnolo bottom bracket off ebay once from a legit dealer for £1.50 - he just happened to have a batch of Italian threaded BBs he wanted to get shot of. St John Cycles is another dealer that I think looks out for job lots that it then sells on cheaply via ebay - I've bought several
