Hey all. I've taken a (too) long time away from cycling due to ill health (long story short, a bad bout of glandular fever + repercussions of that were really, really awful), but over the past few months I've started to pick it back up again very slowly, building my fitness back up with short rides, and just getting back in to the swing of things.
Damn, it feels good to be back in the saddle!
The bike I currently have at the moment is quite old - a Reynolds 531 steel tube frame, Shimano Tourney gearset etc -
[Image in the spoiler]
I bought this bike as at the time I was about to embark on a 400mi touring ride around France, and essentially needed a touring bike. However, over time with my leisure rides I started to push myself harder and faster, and I began using the bike as a full on road bike. It's quite heavy, but for now starting riding again it's fine to build up my fitness etc.
I'd like to look in to possible entry level road bikes, suitable for casual training rides, club rides and perhaps even the occasional race or sportive. An entry level all rounder. As a poor student, my budget would be somewhere around £400, the lower the better. I am totally aware that I can not get a fantastic bike for that price, but I am not looking for a fantastic bike. I just want a general, lightish all rounder that I can ride all year round (I take care of my bikes, but it does need to be ridable in the winter). I also really, really want it to be yellow, it's always been my dream to have a yellow road bike!
Here are some examples of bikes I love. If only I had £3000, sigh.

I'm completely stuck, no idea what I should be looking for. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, and sorry for the long post.
