Thank you all for your patience - it took a little longer than I expected but we're now moved over to the new Xenforo software and running smooth and fast again.
I've still got a lot of background work to do but the rough plan for what's happening next is:
If you need any help with using the new software please post in the support forum (bottom of the main forums page) and the support team will do our best to help, but hopefully you'll find it pretty easy to use.
I do appreciate that this is the second time I've dragged us through a big software change and that it takes a while to get your bearings again, but I am very confident that this platform will better serve us into the future and I have no plans to move again.
You'll no doubt notice I have added some new cycling forums into the main home page - please feel free to pop your head in a post a few new threads if you can - it all helps us to grow and adds more content to the What's New page for everyone else to dive into!!!
Thanks for your continued support of CycleChat - we've got a great community that continues to go from strength to strength.
Cheers,
Shaun
Oh, and get busy with those likes - they're great motivators ...
I've still got a lot of background work to do but the rough plan for what's happening next is:
- [DONE] Member map - this will be similar to the previous one but unfortunately I cannot import the old data so everyone will have to add themselves to the map again.
- Events - this replaces the Calendar and allows for events to be added with companion forum thread to discuss the event (with optional RSVP so you can say whether you are attending or not!!). I will update it with any future calendar events from the old software.
- Journals - this replaces blogs and is a much simpler implementation. I will do my best to transfer all content over from the old blog software but it will take a little while as it needs doing manually.
- User Albums - replaces the communal gallery and provides individual albums for each member. I'll import from the old software as best I can, but again this will be a manual process so will take some time.
- Chatroom - this will now run from the CC server so I need everything else in place before I work on this to ensure it doesn't negatively impact on the forums. It will likely be the new year before I can look at this properly so please be patient and it will eventually make a return.
If you need any help with using the new software please post in the support forum (bottom of the main forums page) and the support team will do our best to help, but hopefully you'll find it pretty easy to use.
