Who will courier a bike ( uk) and what's the sort of cost?

Thanks

Give this a try mate  http://www.shiply.com/

I've just used THESE to send my Langster. Cost me £26 odd, fully tracked next day and fully insured for £350

I originally went to THESE, but the price was astonishing. Granted when I first took the bike in, it was parceled in a full bike sized Wiggle box I had stashed at work, and TNT wanted £125

They said if got it down to 1.2 metres they could get it on their standard service, (£8.50 but only £50 standard insurance, although you can increase it so I estimated it would probably come in at about £15).

I took it back to work and cut the box down, took the wheels off etc, and got it down to 1.2m. Went back, they 'volumised' it and said the cheapest would be £47 odd  No amount of arguing about what they told me the day before could budge the feckers!

That's when I went to APC Overnight. Their attitude was brilliant and gave me complete confidence in their ability, the tracking worked flawlessly and the guy got the bike next day in perfect condition.

[EDIT] FWIW my pacakge weighed about 18.5kg

If your employer has an account with TNT or DHL a bike box costs £11. You can then write your employer a cheque. Simples.

Ressurecting an old thread after a search ...

I called APC (thanks, Smokey - £15!), and they need it boxed. I'm guessing I can get a bike box from my LBS, but am a complete mechanical illiterate. I'm assuming I have to turn the handlebars and remove the pedals - is there anything else I have to do, and is there anything more complicated involved than undoing a bolt? (I assume the right-hand pedal needs to be removed by turning it clockwise, is that all there is to it?)

Puzzle game procrastinator!
Can't remember who told me (someone here) but the easiest way to remember is:
Right is right (as in correct)
Left is wrong
I'm certainly one of the people who wrote that! (People say it is easy to remember: right pedal is a righthand thread, left is a lefthand thread, but that implies that we know whether a 'normal' thread is righthand or lefthand, which I didn't!)

It gets even more confusing when you've been brought up on commercial vehicles and MGB wire wheel nuts, right is left and left is right!
