...and that was the spare wheel too. Damn. Was only doing a pootle. Nasty trench at a stop light in Streatham, width of the lane. Nowhere else to go.

Down the hole, bang, pop, fizzle, stop.

Curses curses curses. Oh well. Will put the tube under my pillow and hope the puncture fairy brings me something good. A new rim would be a start.

That's the second one in two days. First an Airnimal, then an Aerohead. This is getting expensive.

Andy is back on the big orange beastie for the foreseeable.

Maybe write to the council? If they were aware of it, they are obliged to pay for the rim, if they weren't aware of it, then they will fix it so that it doesn't happen next time, to you or someone else.

Will do that. Was a nice wheel too. Was running at 145psi (track pumped this morning) so don't imagine other bikes would fare any better.
Right. Which council looks after the London end of streatham high street?

Best take a ruler and camera with me tomorrow!

Nope. The boy was already tucked in bed, so no hope of her coming out. Long wander for me.

I assume they ride heavy and straight and don't bunny hop?
Exactly right. I do love them, but there's really no way to de-weight them. On a good day, you don't see the pothole coming. On a bad day, you get a second or so of 'this is gonna hurt' before it happens. If there's a route around it, steering works like any other bike. If you're pinned in traffic, brakes are about the only option:sad:

Report it via one of these two sites and then the local council are obliged to do something about it. http://www.fillthathole.org.uk/ http://www.fixmystreet.com/

I've reported a stretch of bad concrete road surface on there with the road surface going up and down steps of 1 + inches every slab ... which I consider dangerous when turning right and having to go up that inch step....

They are resurfacing a road near by but no signs that they are going to do anything about this one.:welcome:

To my memory, the A12 was not dissimilar to riding through the 100m hurdles. Pedal pedal smack pedal pedal smack pedal pedal smack, all the way.... ;)

That wasn't a road with gaps and holes. That was a bleeding great hole with little chunks of road in.
