In a moment of poor attentiveness yesterday, I managed to crash through a huge pothole and was fortunate to end up with a puncture and no apparent wheel damage. It almost threw me off the bike but I got lucky. It was as if a gravedigger had been practicing in the road.

So, if you're heading east on the 'Vokes Road' (or, as it's more properly known, the A324 Aldershot Road) towards Pirbright, keep your eyes open! There were a serious of deep and nasties on the last few bends before you get to the mini roundabout at Pirbright.

Don't forget to report them. It's the only way to get them repaired.

There's a pothole on my commute home that has been filled twice this winter and is breaking down again to the point it's needing redone.

I enter it online to the local council and also on fillthathole.org.uk which seems to get things done pretty quick. The 5 I've reported were done within a week (although one was back again within 2 weeks!).

If you report them and someone is subsequently injured it can help their case. Fillthathole is pretty good.

There are some real whoppers about this year.

I was doing a few laps around my local park yesterday when a council van appeared. Two men were in the van one to drive it the other to get out and spray paint circles round the potholes. They drove at around 10mph stopping every now and then to mark the holes. Why didn't the lazy git just walk round the park,it's only 0.6 of a mile around?!:headshake:
