But that's not the norm.
I have a pouffe - it suddenly appeared one day, thanks to my sister! I was going to get myself an Ottoman, but I thought that might be Empire building...so I stayed 'footstool and fancy free'.

Bloody right it isn't. Put your feet on me and my back will go and I'll be off cycling for weeks.

We have one with the Duresta Suite we bought 15 years ago when we were rich ....
It's about to be re-upholstered in a few weeks time, 3 kids and a dog have taken their toll somewhat.
But we wouldn't be without a Pouffe big enough for thee prs of feet to share.

I have a mahoosive cube beanbag (beancube?) thing for when I'm sitting in the chair by the radiator. Sofa = sprawl.

I have a footstool- recently acquired in a sale, very different in style to the one in the OP. No storage options - good for resting the feet and also occasionally taken over by the cat.

Yep me too, usually only used for raising a leg and applying an ice pack (my knees aren't getting any younger either)

We had one when I was a kid, but it got called the "poof-ay". We also had an ottoman, but that was oblong and lived on the landing outside the bathroom, and was used for keeping sheets in.

Yes we have a 'poufe' thing and an ottoman, though the 'ottoman' is oblong'ish and made of wicker with a paded top (it's in the loft) we had them when younger like this - but not this colour.
