Quality looks pretty good - there's a slight "fisheye" effect though, I'm guessing the lens is a fairly short focal length. The sensor seemed to struggle a bit to retain detail in the "ground" part of the frame with a lot of sky in the frame too (more obvious at the beginning of the footage).

It is a wide angle lens so it will loose a bit at the edges with it being a short camera.

Looks interesting Mike. Will you be placing the footage somewhere in a more 'raw' format. Obviously youtube doesn't do it justice.

It does appear to have a slight fisheye, but for the purpose of a helmet camera when cycling I don't think that matters too much. What I want to find out is, how good is it a picking out registration numbers and what is it like in low light conditions.

That does look very cool, Mikey. The sound wasn't great in sections, but I'm guessing that's a mixture of wind noise combined with YouTube's low bandwidth compression. As Magna says, it would be neat to see a little clip of it in its original format...

I would really like to see 3rd person vid of that, bloke on skates charging up a bus lane past lots of traffic. Heh.

Seems to be a disproprtionate amount of 4x4 in the footage, is it typical and just my perception as there seem less on the roads here?

Did you get the wide angle lens then?

I find that number plates are not always readable on the standard lens setup. (Mainly rural cycling, not up-against-the-bumper stuff like in town)

One great benefit of the POV-1 is that you can just get a different head for it if you want. e.g. if they bring out a more sensitive one for low-light, or if you want a different focal length - just buy a new head.

I can't see YouTube where I am just now, I'll have to wait a few weeks to see it, but did you upload it so you get High Quality too? (I think you know where to look to see footage uploaded that way ;) )
