Powerlink for Shimano chain?

Hi, is it acceptable to use a SRAM powerlink with a Shimano 9 speed triple chain or are there any other alternatives.
I want to carry something for emergency repairs.
Apologies if this has been raised before.

Not done it myself, but everything I've read on the subject suggests that you can without problems. My personal preference is for KMC chains and their accompanying powerlinks, but I don't think there's a huge difference.

Yes....

Easy fit and removal for cleaning. Most in our group who still use Shimano chains fit these instead of the pin in the first place.

KMC missing links work better ime.

£ 1.95 - that is outrageaous - when you consider you can get 100 links for a tenner.... but if it means a 15 mile walk, then money well spent.
