Three points for speeding, six for insurance offence, three more for walking a dog from the wheel of the car by running a lead out of the window, and he gets a six month driving ban and a £124 fine? And thats it?

I've seen many, many silly things on the road, but I've never seen that! I note that it was a cyclist who reported him... Any remote chance its anyone we know?

In all honesty, there's probably thousands of examples of bad driving I'd rather see result in a ban, that dog-walking one is pretty comical. At least the ban might prod him into some physical activity!

I think that's fair, the speeding and driving without insurance had already been dealt with.

The ban is automatic and the fine I think was appropriate for the offence, it was a quiet country road after all

The accumulation of penalty points has resulted in a trivial punishment. Why ever let someone who has shown themselves to be unfit to drive back behind the wheel of a car?

I dispute the dog-walking being trivial. To control a car at any speed while doing that... Frightening.

Oh dear, you clearly haven't understood the rules of the UK road:

1. Having a driving licence is a basic human right.

2. Being unfit or incompetent or psychologically unsuited to driving is no reason for taking it away.

3. The car is king and nothing must be allowed to detract from that.

4. Road deaths and injuries are just one of those things and must be accepted under rules 1, 2, and 3 above.

I think the attitude of some on here is shameful. Not one person has looked at this from the poor hound's perspective. With it's owner on a driving ban it's going to be sat at home watching Sky all day, eating biscuits etc. 6 months of this and it won't be able to get out of home let alone chase the car.
Please think of the pets.

Wants banning from keeping animals too

Various ways something could happen resulting in the death of the dog because he is too f**ing lazy to take it for a proper walk

What was the car? A Rover, Dachsund, Maybark or a Scooby?

And the dog? A greyhound, a whippet or a doo?

Nah, the guy was just poodling along ....... I bet he feels more than aggrieved at having his collar felt.

xx(.
