I never have breakfast and normally ride 15miles for my commute, although the route is only actually 5. I always ride as hard as I can muster (normally 18-20mph average) and then just get something once I've showered at work. It's an incentive for me to push hard to enjoy my little treat.
If I'm leaving early for a weekend ride, then I'll take a banana for breakfast and then maybe some jelly sweets for later in the ride.
