IJust loaded up the bike to do a test ride before Way of the Roses in a couple of weeks. Felt really good. Ran smoother than anticipated. Tried a few small hills and felt stable out of saddle too. Good 30 miles at 13.5 mph average. Can't wait now.

However - I've sorted my packing but wonder if I've forgotten anything. If you spot any glaring omissions or have anything you would recommend taking then would be good to hear. It's a b n b tour.

I'd forget the folding tyre, and swap one of the T-Shirts for a long sleeve shirt.
Add chain oil and keys for the lock
And if you have enough hair for a brush, then something to tie it back

Looks like you have planned the ride really well. Kit looks bob on.
Best of luck with the ride and let us know how you got on.
We have Hadrians Cycleway next month and Way of the Roses later in the year so your feedback with b&b's etc will be much appreciated
Do you have a barbag or some other quick release bag to store your valuables in ? Always keep these with you at cafe stops etc

You're taking a spare spoke but nothing to fit it with. From experience you're most likely to break one on the drive side and you'll need a tool to remove the cassette. I have an NBT2 available from Spa Cycles and also a spoke key. TBH I don't think about broken spokes on very short tours. I also don't take a spare tyre. Hope you have a great time .

I never carry a tyre. Most damage can be repaired adequately with a tyre boot until you reach a bike shop

Also I tend to look at the weather, but find that a waterproof jacket doubles as a windproof
