This is a simple thread made for folk to share their most recent tour.
Where did you start, where did you finish? Did you discover any nice cycle paths?
Have you acquired any brilliant stories out of your journey?

Spoiler: My most recent tour

I recently toured what I assume was approximately 400 miles (650km) around East Yorkshire & Lincolnshire to discover my home county.
There's a brilliant cycle path (a repurposed train track) from Lincoln out to Newark. It runs for at least 50 miles I suspect.
I also used this trip to explore the possibilities of producing a documentary through bicycle touring.

I got back yesterday from Sweden, where I rode the Kattegattleden.

I started in Copenhagen, cycled up to Helsingør, took the ferry across to Helsingborg and then cycled up to Gothenburg. Four days and 219 miles in total.

I'd read good things about the Kattegattleden and it certainly lives up to it. Good weather helped of course but some of the scenery is spectacular. You follow the coast, you go through forests and through open countryside. A bit of everything really.

Definitely recommended.

Just a quick overnight, Tuesday I went through Stirling, Kippen, Balfron and Drymen to Loch Lomond where I camped overnight.
I returned via Drymen, Aberfoyle, over the Dukes Pass to Callander, Doune and Bridge of Allan.

Big Tour to Albania and back last year.

Cycle paths: The Ligurian Riviera through San Remo is ace.

Slovakia has some amazing cycling infrastructure, like the Vah valley cycleway which was just being finished, with a series of awesome cycling bridges over the river

A few weeks ago now I went down to Garmish Partenkirschen in Southern Germany and rode through the Alps to Lake Garda in Italy. 430 km, 9500m height gain over eight amazing days. Well over half was on gravel trails and most of my route was away from roads. I also ended up riding the famous Gavia pass when my intended route was blocked by a landslide.

I'll write a more detailed account in the travelogue section in the future, suffice to say it was a memorable trip with some lovely encounters.

Love these stories of other people's adventures. I usuallly go cycling around Netherlands, Belgium and western Germany a few times a year, one coming up next week, other early sept. I get the ferry from Harwich as i live close by. I would like to venture further to Denmark, Sweden and heck Slovenia looks great! How do you guys get over to these places? Fly? Drive? Or just on the bike and use ferries and trains?

In my case, I rode from home along the north coast of Ireland to Ballycastle (with a forty minute train ride in the middle, mostly to avoid a very busy stretch of road) and got the ferry to Campbeltown and also used the ferry from Clonaig to Lochranza.

Other tours within Ireland in recent years have been done from a fixed base and taking the bike in the car to wherever I'm staying if it's too far to ride.
