I made the mistake of buying this film on DVD. The original Predator from the 80's is a cracking film but subsequent spin-offs from original films tend to be weak, with one or two exceptions.

This one is terrible, a very poor attempt at a re-make of the original. If you enjoy the sci-fi, Predator genre save yourself £6 and give this one a miss.

I quite enjoyed the Alien v Predator ones, maybe watching with the kids helped though

It's a shame as these genres offer up fantastic opportunity but some of the end results make you really wonder how they ever got any funding at all.

My favorite genre is Sci-Fi, but unfortunately there are a handful of good sci fi films out there are a plethora of absolutely terrible ones. I watch one on DVD last night called "Skyline". It was just a plotless b-movie with modern special effects. Absolute drivel.

agree'd it was pap wasn't it?
predators imo just ripped off the original way to much. as far as rubbish sci fi goes tho, we'll never be without it i guess. eventually something gets made that really works tho.

The original Predator was a great film, sadly they have dragged the franchise out for far too long now, the latest one was awful like you say.
Plot was ridiculous, and the less said about the acting the better

They even ripped off a line from Aliens. Now that was a decent sequel.

I agree a terrible film and the sound was so bad that even with the volume wound almost right up I could barely hear it. To think going by the fancy sleeve it looked to be a good film. Never judge a book/film by it's cover definatly applies to this one.

So it was not even worth watching for Michelle Rodriguez then? She is not everyone's thing but I think she is smoking hot. Still I could not bring myself to watch Predators. I had read it was turd, just like the recent"ish" Terminator 4 film was. I wish that they would just leave things to be honest. I expect them to ruin Mad Max too, having said that it cannot be any worse than Beyond The Thunderdome was

i got the complete collection of Planet of the Apes this month (5 films plus documentary)

the original film is a pure classic, the second was just a re-hash of the first and disappointing but then it all went a bit silly after that.

still, worth getting for under £10

The terminator was a classic but the sequels went steadily downhill.

the exception to the rule was Mad Max. most people agree the second film was better than the first. (but then thunder-dome was shite)

if you want crap sci-fi stuff try watching "the postman"
oy vay...

must admit tho planet of the apes is right up there with omega man and 2001 a space oddyssey!
2010 was even good, still waiting for them to make 3001 tho, that was a damn good book too.
another clarke i'd love to see is Childhoods end, what an epic film that could be!

mad max 2 was indeed better then the first, but then i thought that evil dead 2 was better then 1 too.

the terminator films i loved, T2 i was but 12 years old when i saw that, i was just getting into guns n roses and which kid doesn't like a film with a minigun in it!!
