My sister just found £6 worth of premium bonds in my name in our late mother's effects. They must have been bought for me about half a century ago when I was a small child. (That makes me sound really old!) I thought I'd better check on them to see if I am a 'secret millionaire' so I went on the NSandI website to find a phone number. It's a good one - 0500007007!

Er, 0500007007 -> 0500 007 007 -> 0500 James Bond James Bond -> 0500 Bonds.

Ha ha - I like it! ^_^

PS If I have won a million pounds then the cafe stop on my eventual 'Back from the dead' forum ride will be on me! :thumbsup:

I unearthed a couple bought for me as a child.

Forty years after their purchase one of them won £50.

My MIL & FIL both have/had the maximum amount of premium bonds and seem to get a payment on a very regular basis. So good wins too.

Thanks. I do have an holder's number, or rather - I had one when I bought £6,000 worth of bonds. I only kept the bonds for a few months because I needed the cash but in that time I won £50 three months on the trot.

I think my bond holder's number may have lapsed when I cashed in the last of the £6k because when I try using the number, it isn't recognised. It could be a typo though. I'll check when I make that phone call. There is an outside chance that I didn't cash in the last few bonds. I remember toying with the idea of leaving a few uncashed but I can't remember what my decision was!

The 50 year old bonds will not be attached to a bond holder's number because they didn't have them then. I have had 5 changes of address in that time but I'm sure I can demonstrate that I am the same ColinJ that they were bought for.

I used to have some of those. They were a reasonable investment choice until interest rates plummeted.

Here's hoping you've unknowingly hit it rich. If you have then cake and coffee are on you at the next forum ride you attend. :mrpig:

Our kid used to have the mobile number 07721721200- which, for us northern mancunians, translates as 07-Blackley, Blackley, 200.

I realised that keying in your holder nukbers :unsure::scratch:would only tell you if you won a prize this month. So I deleted my post.
Apparently not ...
NS & I website said:
The Premium Bonds prize checker will show any prizes won by your Premium Bonds in the past six draws as well as any outstanding prizes since your Bonds entered the draw.

As it happens, I did win £25 this month. :thumbsup:
Today's chocs are on you then! :smile:

I've got 101 (the one was bought for me when I was born, when you could still buy them singly, I bought the £100 when I was about 18). I think I've won 2 £50 prizes.
