My granddad bought me some as a child, only won a prize once, exactly a year to the day after he died... spooky. That was about 20 years ago and still haven't won anything since

We went through my mother's effects after she died and found several dozen premium bonds, some of them dating back to the 1960s so we assumed they must have accumulated a tidy sum. Not a one of them had won as much as a single penny!

We got some instead of keepong some money in a savings account for some work I need to do at the office when we get approval for it. The NS and I website says that the prize fund is 1.5% of the total invested, which they take out bonds on so they are earning money and giving out the equivalent of 1.5% interest a year averaged out over a lifetime, which is as good as most ISAs these days, is instantly accessible, it's 100% dependable and you never know you might win £1m!! What's not to like!

Can't even cash them in as there's less than £100.......not that a fiver would get me far today
