Come the fall of society, who will be upholding the law?

An interesting point, which has been explored several times in fiction (and at government level). While I am constrained by law on speaking about government plans, see the tv movie ‘Threads’ et al for fictional examples.

My intention here was to remind people that, legally, having -anything- for ‘self defence’ purposes probably makes it illegal. Best to declare such to be a ‘fashion item’, ‘family keepsake’ or similar. Never admit to carrying anything as a weapon.

The only thing I'm 'prepped' for is camping. I have something for every eventuality. Boy Scout on 'speed' ! Some will say I take too much... they are correct.

A large bed of jerusalem artichokes would make a good source of survival food through the winter months they can be dug up at any time. Only trouble is theyre very 'wind' producing [fartichokes] so when huddled n hunkered down eating baked beans and artichokes, gassing oneself to death is likely

we're currently eating (and fartibg) our way through and such a bed. Just a few left to go.

At one point, I'd have wanted to be a 'survivor' like in the films and so on.

But now?
Have you ever actually thought of the reality of it? It'd be hellish if it was for any extended period of time/forever! 🤷‍♂️

It's a cliché to say the dead would be the lucky ones, but I do sometimes wonder...

The most terrifying thing is that it was probably optimistic.
