Can't see on a casual look how close that gets to Colne but that features:

The cheapest Wspoons I've ever been in.

and the nearby grave of Wallace Hartley (Spoons named after him) with a really nice view.
It skirts the northern fringes of Colne, along Colne Edge, so about 1/2 a mile up the hill. It is the high, scenic route rather than either of the obvious busier A-road routes below (A56/59 or A6068/629).

I am cycling up too! My sister lives there and it'll pass by her door too ( small world eh!) I'm going from blackpool but I just gonna stick on the A59 so I don't get lost! Going up on Friday afternoon ready for Saturday, hope not too busy.Enjoy yr ride

Thanks for advice, at least it's flat though and no sharp bends though so hopefully be ok. Might be some others en route too?

Looking forward to the ride - 10 miles to Euston for the 7:30, preston 9:30, then ride into the Trough. Pub lunch along the way. B&B in Newton, Dinner there, pint or 3 in the Parkers Arms, Sorted!

No, no really sharp bends but it's one of those roads which frustrates drivers - one lane only each side and limited passing places in some stretches - which can lead to unwise overtaking.

I'd be inclined to follow the Ncn route to barnoldswick, and join the a59 later though there's no easy way of avoiding the rest.
