Prices going up

Was in the LBS today and was informed prices on bikes are going up. He showed me a leter from Giant informing shops due to the increase in steel/rubber etc there would be price increases very soon!

Just some info for any one looking to buy but perhaps delaying for a couple of weeks!

Call me cynical (sp) but, is it because there is an increase in sales of bikes due to people commuting that the makers are raising prices?

BUT USUALLY ONLY AFTER deflation, so it all levels off in the case of innertubes..

Slightly OT ... inflation,deflation. When I started commuting I told folk about the hilly nature of my route. Someone pointed out that averaging out the route, to and from work, the journey was actually flat

Anyway, the new bike is already reserved, just waiting for the Cycle2work voucher to come through.
