Private number plates

Apologies for trawling up an old thread - this doesn't need a new one but I wanted to share it.

Walking to lunch today I saw a Range Rover with blacked out windows, gleaming low profile alloys, and the registration ME B1G. My immediate though was "what a c0ck!" Making up for what he lacks not only with an obscene car, but also overcompensating with a vanity plate.

Spaced like that, it's probably illegal too...

I like personalised number plates, they are usually easier to memorise in the event of the need to report the driver to the police for failing to allow a safe clearance when overtaking a cyclist.

I see a white Range Rover most mornings with the reg. MR5 5EXY. I hope it was a present from her husband (or same sex partner) not her idea of herself .

Theres one of those Renault GTAs by me, reg is something like V6 GTA, never seen one before. Lovely looking car.

There's a nicely understated on I often see in Leeds - MR5 4MED.

Those I have no problem with. It is, as others have said, the numpties with personal plates on their X5s. Still, I suppose at least you don't have to wait till they get out of them to know that they are tossers.

My car came with a personalized licence plate. It refers to the year of manufacture - BC49578.

I bought my car new and was offered a range of registration numbers. Getting an alternative plate was the cheapest way of avoiding one that said KAK.

My next car will have a Q plate, with my luck that one will also have KAK on it.

I'm not sure exactly what the car was but I suspect that it was a Ferrari (it might have been a Lamborghini) ... anyway, it was a super-fast, super-expensive-looking car parked near Victoria station in Manchester and its number was ...

Though WTF would be good on the trike I am building as most passers by would probably say that when they saw it.
