I have been getting this clicking noise that seems to be on a certain point on the pedal stroke, when out today i took my bum out of the seat and still get it then i tried putting more pressure on each side of the pedal strokes, on the right side all i got was the chain rubbing at one point on the front shifter, on the left i was getting the clicking, i was at the lbs seeing what brake blocks they had and mentioned the problem and he has suggested the bottom bracket, i have swapped the new m520's back to the original ones but wont find out till tomorrow the outcome, all this week it seems like its harder to pedal but don't know if this is related, also my rear shifter has started to change gears by itself today, any ideas, its a Triban 3 and its 2.5 months old and i do 18.5 miles a day.

For the clicks look here:-

and for the gears...your bike is just the right age for the cable to have stretched. Cable tension is critical for your gears to change slickly. You have to tighten the cable up which actuates the rear derailleur, You do this by winding the derailleur's barrel adjuster out - anticlockwise - half a turn at a time until they're working tickety-boo again....look here:-

I think i have found the problem with the clicking, after checking every nut and bolt, the allen key bolt that holds the pedal arm to the crank was loose by about 1/8th of a turn on the left side which was where i was getting the clicking, the right side was only about 1/16th of a turn and there doesn't seen to be as much play in the crank as the was before, i went out on original pedals all ok and then back to the m520's today and still ok, my gears needed half a turn on the cable adjuster and all ok, no more changing by itself.

Just checked mine, seems nice and tight but I still get a clicking noise if I push hard in high gear on the downward stroke of the right pedal only and only sometimes!

I had an annoying ticking noise a while ago. When I stopped pedalling the noise stopped. I couldn't find anything that would cause the noise for a while until I noticed the plastic knobs on the end of my jacket waist cord were swinging and hitting the top tube.

I've had loads of these. All have sounded like they're from the BB.

They've never been the BB..

Seat post clamp
Saddle rail clamp
Crank arm bolt
Stem bolts
Pedal not tight
Pedal bearing + grit
Dry chain

I get that but its more of a dull clinking, on mine its the chain rubbing on the front derailier bracket, when im up to speed it goes, i think my chainring is slightly bent, sure yours isn't the cable sticking out and getting hit by the crank arm or the water bottle bracket which gave me probs as that had broke in half, another thing i would try is loosening the crank arm bolt and give the arm a sort of shake to try and reseat it and then tighten.
