Problem with garmin 800

Just bought a new garmin 800. The ac adapter does not work.

I cannot get extra fields on the display, instructions say go to bike settings and there should be an option for data fields. Cannot find it, am I missing something obvious.

I think it is something like Bike Settings then Training Pages (or similar)

Briefly press the power button and a little bar thing appears. Press the + or - buttons to select the desired backlight level.

Any chance of changing the temperature to degrees.
