OK so my workplace has the cycle to work scheme and part of that agreement is that they have to provide a place for the bikes to be stored etc, which they've done, unfortunately over the last week my bike has been blocked in by works vehicles meaning I have to hang around until they get moved

does anyone know where I stand legally on making them provide a right of access to and from the company specified area

BIG THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR ANY ADVICE

I've already reported it twice, and still the same happened again last night I'm on days next week so probably not going to be able to get in, its beyond a joke the people responsible just say "well what are we supposed to do" I could think of a few ideas... wouldn't be so bad if I'd put my bike somewhere to be blocked in but when I'm putting it where the company says it has to go then I'm at a loss when to many idiots attend the asylum

Transport manager and estates

We had a similar situation.

SOlved within a couple of weeks with a yellow box deliniating the access and enforcement of the parking restriction by the Transport manager

Ask them how they would respond if the vans blocked parked cars. Theirs!

Put your bike somewhere else. And when they complain, tell them why it's there and that it will go back in the designated area once they've sorted the problem out.

I second this. Take it in to work and when someone complains tell them to complain to whoever you've complained to about your access problems.

I've considered taking it into the building and locking it to the desk which if I can't get in next week is what I'll be doing, I mean how hard is it, surely I should be left with a walkway to the area

Exactly. The access to our bike shed is usually blocked by delivery vehicles, but I can always access it by dismounting and pushing round. TBF, most of the drivers don't realise they're blocking our access.
