Need a stand for my tourer. Which to get?

Any to avoid?

I have a very similar one on my folder. They're brilliant. I can recommend them.

I thought about attaching Helium balloons front and rear to lighten the weight!

I read a few pieces that said the same. Also some that fit on front and rear skewers. Are they a pair or do you just use one?

He's also fitted stabilisers.

My Surly Long Haul Trucker has a Hebie Bipod 605 NL stand and stand plate 699 40 fitted and it has been on the bike since March 2010. That bike has been used mostly as a touring bike for some 13,400 kilometres including a fair bit of dirt riding conditions. The stand is still on the bike, the bike is doing fine as far as I know... it sure as heck hasn't said anything and as far as I know it hasn't complained

My Bacchetta Giro 20 ATT has a kickstand ... it works okay but to be honest I much prefer the Hebie on the Surly. The Hebie comes in handy where you need to do a chain lube or some other service in the middle of nowhere

Yep that's the one. I put some tape round the part of the frame it clamps to, to avoid scratches or worse
