As I'm a moron, could somebody please explain to me what a "serious cyclist" is?

Because I'd have thought that "serious" would denote a professional or semi-professional cyclist, or at least an amateur trying to break into the pro ranks?

There will be sections of towpath designated 'Patches' and the person who dumps the most Lycra Louts in the Cut (backed up by GPS and photo evidence of course) will have bragging rights and officially have the right to be called the 'King of the Patch'.

He states he agrees with my comments and has removed the article and will ensure nothing like this appears again.

I used to be a serious cyclist as I used the bike to get to work and run errands and such. Not like these mere hobyists who go out on joy rides or for sporting activities
