If you want to LoL then read some of the troll comments. Really some are from deranged nutters who have either let their sugar levels fall too low or who should be sectioned.

Laughable but the serious point is that it shows how much cyclists are disliked in some quarters.
I suspect that cycling could do more to improve its image if only to protect its own interests,

I don't understand why some of the Motorist think that Cyclists are a Danger to them. In this case why don't they organise something similar to the Big Ride to improve their safety from Cyclist, I a non issue.

I thought this one was rather special.
They should start by registering all cycles and road taxing them. All cycles should carry a registration plate.
All cyclists should be made to pass a medical and profociency test every ten years and must wear compulsery British Standard body armour.
Insurance should be compulsory.
All cycles should be governed to prevent them exceeding 15 MPH. as the most common cause of cycle accidents is excess speed weaving in and out of heavy traffic.
They should also pay permanent congestion charge to cover the cost to the economy holding all the traffic up riding two or three abreast on narrow and busy roads
The Road Traffic Act should be ammended so that penalties for infringements including speeding offences should fall in line with those regarding motor vehicles..

I've come to the conclusion that drivers who insist that bicycles should pay road tax mean nothing of the sort. After all, everyone must know by now that VED is based on emissions, even if they don't understand the link between taxation and road maintenance. What they really want is for cyclists to pay a punitive bicycle tax for having the impudence to be on the roads and in their way.

I gave up reading the reply's to these sort of articles a long time ago as all it does is raise one's blood pressure. The people who respond are just trolls out to get a reaction. I can't work out if these people are thick, ignorant or maliciously arrogant (probably all three), but I just ignore them. The way I see it, they are probably overweight, angry and heading for a heart attack with all the stress and anger pent up inside them. I will carry on cycling, knowing I will live a longer, happier life.
