Just come back from a 27 mile ride - Leeds to Saltaire along the Leeds to Liverpool Canal. Very proud of my 10 and 11 year olds who did it without too much complaining. It may be pretty flat but there's some rather rough terrain in places and they got on with it well.
They even coped OK with the cretinous kids in their late teens who thought it was amusing to throw apples quite hard from a bridge and hit my boy leaving quite a nasty bruise. Cowards wouldn't come down and face me though and sadly, in my cycling shoes there's no way I could have got up there to them. I haven't got the faintest idea what makes some people tick.
