On Saturday my 6yo could just about ride with stabelisers......

20min yesterday on the nearby common

30min this morning at same

and a 1/4mile ride up there just now.

No stabelisers, no "offs", controled braking steering........

She has now stated that se want her stabelisers "out of the house" and thinks she's a cycling hero....!

Nice one!

After falling off my bike a couple of months ago, my six year old niece told me that I need stabilisers again!!

I was amazed she was so up for it; a friend (femeale) of the family whom she knows really well had an off MTBing a few weeks back - hit a tree full on, bruised boob and sternum, broken rib and lots of pain; though it might have put B off. B has since suggested that our friend might benefit from having the stabelisers.........

I was looking forward to teaching my son to ride but he pretty much taught himself! He had a balance bike (the ones with no pedals or chain) from about two years old and had a bike with stabilisers too. Just before his third birthday he decided the stabilisers should come off and by the end of the day he was riding! I did not get to do the running alongside holding on or anything. He is now four and on his third pedal bike!
