PS3 or XBox 360

Considering getting a console and my spider senses tell me to go for the PS3. Any thoughts?

Probably biased as I have just got a PSP3 and so I would be unfair on the the XBox...

But buy a PSP3 - I think it's amazing - get an HDMI lead and a bluetooth remote control and you can watch HD blue ray movies (assuming your TV is HD ready). All the games are HD.

I've linked via Windows Media 11 (with 1 click) and allowed media sharing, and my TV picks up all my photos / music stored on my PC.
Obviously can surf the net as well

I've no experience of the Xbox but PSP3 is a great piece of kit.

+1 for all this.
+ there are loads of demo games to download for free, older ps1 and ps2 games to download from £5.00 like Wipeout etc, and the latest games to download also. As well as the media player, I uploads CDS and Movies to the hard drive (which is easily upgradeable), so easy to access to watch and/or listen. Great piece of kit imo .

The 360 is the better games console by a country mile. The PS3 is the better telemediavisual feast to paraphrase wot someone said in Fawlty Towers.

P.S. In recent developments vidzone is quite a laugh

P.P.S. Even more recently get a slim line PS3 they are sooooooooooooo much quieter.

I also didn't know the 360 is better for games - I'm sure you know what you're talking about!

As you say though the PSP3 is a TV feast. The best gizmo I've seen in terms of actual usefulness since I got Sky plus

The 360 is easier to develop for and it is better specced than the PS3. Games run faster and better 99% of the time. I wouldn't pay the extra for the PS3 unless you want the Blu-Ray

I guess if gabriel959 says the gaming is better (which I have no experience of) it depends what you want from it

If you want great games, gabriel959 and marinyork say it's better for that.

As an all round media centre on your the PSP3 is better - but an HD compatible TV would help

Mind you the media sharing doesn't need that

I've got a spare Casino Royale Blu-Ray of which you are welcome to have as a first BR DVD (you gotta get a HD ready tv though to make the most of it)
