Evening all!
I realise this is a long shot, but here goes!
I have a PS3 with no working optical drive. As I generally use my XBOX, this tends not to bother me and I just use the system as a media hub and play any games that can be downloaded from the playstation store. When my PVR ceased to function this week, I decided to buy PlayTV as a replacement. Unfortunately, I made an oversight...the software for it appears only available via the supplied disk, which I cannot play. There is a paid firmware update which offered me some hope, but on reading, this is reliant on having the latest software installed already.
So, before I take the thing back to the shop, does anyone know of anywhere I can download the software? I have contacted Sony, but nothing yet...
Finally, yes, I have considered fixing the drive, but having already tried any solution that is free, I am loathe to spend anything on the machine, when it would just give me another console for which I want to buy games!
Thanks in advance...
Dave
