Welcome to the 22nd Annual PTP Competition

PTP 2026 Calendar

Intro

Opening weekend is just 4 weeks away, so it's time to kickoff the annual game. If you are new to this competition, you simply have to select the rider who you think will finish highly in a select group of (W)WT and 1.Pro races. Points are accumulated over the season, and after Il Lombardia the player with the most points gets the bragging rights.

Calendar changes for 2026

  • Gent-Wevelgem has a new name: "In Flanders Fields - From Middelkerke to Wevelgem".
  • The Dauphiné also has a new name: "Tour Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes".
  • The Tour de Suisse is shortened to 5 days.
  • We keep the Women's spring monuments and the World Champs.

How to Play

  • Playing along with PTP is extremely simple - you don't have to sign up or join anything other than the CycleChat forum. If you're already a member here, that means you're already eligible to play.
  • A few days before each of the chosen races, a PTP thread will be started in the Pro Cycling forum. That thread will contain a selection of useful links - start lists, race maps, past winners and so on. All you have to do is consider who you think is likely to win and post their name in that thread. It's that simple. If the race in question is a stage-race, you also get to predict the daily stage winners.
  • Post your pick in the relevant PTP thread before the cut off. If you change your mind then please post as a new post rather than editing your old post.
  • As you play, your scores will be added up and the overall season rankings will be updated in this thread. The scorer's will do their best to ensure scores are accounted for accurately, but ultimate responsibility lies with each player to make sure their points are correct.

Scoring

Scores are already included in the following Google Sheets templates (use of templates not mandatory, but it can make life easier): One day race, Stage race

Footnotes

Doping

Points are finalised once the race organisations publishes their results. No adjustments will be made if it later emerges that a rider has failed a drugs test or if a rider has wins retrospectively removed from their palmares.

Prediction Cut-off

Always the contentious one! The cut off is 12pm (noon) UK on the day of the race. This is strict so predictions at 12.01 won't be counted (exceptions made for split-stages, evening prologues etc. as described in each race's thread). No GC selections will be accepted once a stage race has begun.

I'll do a few . I forgotten how to work the spreadsheet from.a year ago ...I'll work.it out

I want the scorer to have the super power to choose 3 riders that are inadmissable for picks on GC / stages for stage races . so basically No pog no Jonas no remco or no whoever . . One day races I'm willing to let slide .though Im ok with that too
