I have been to the South for cycling. The north that you intend to go is usually visited by "real cyclists" who can do the hills!.
It is a cyclists paradise. You will enjoy it.
How are you taking your bike?

I was out there 6 weeks ago, I have never seen so much carbon fibre. Have you thought of hiring as it is good value.

I did consider hiring .... I am a bit of a stickler the bike has to be 100% in mechanical order.
it cost me £50 to get my bike over/back ... not sure how much it is to hire carbon on the day !
As its my first time on euro tarmac on a bike ..I thought it may be safer to take my own comforts
once we have seen what there is to offer in/around next time we go we can adjust

Hi Tissot,

I have sent you a PM. The hire bikes are first class, that is one of the things I found out. I took my bike this year but wont next year. The hire shops main Trade is hiring road bikes to teams.

The most expensive Carbon road bike from 2GoCycling is €20 Per day. Hiring saves all the hassle of getting the bike there, hiring a larger vehicle or taxi to get to where you want to be etc.

The bike hire in Majorca is very different to other places. They are very good quality bikes which are well maintained. It cost me just over £100 a week for Alu frame road bike. I would still prefer to have my own bike irrespective of the cost. So I agree with your decision.
I am now planning my next tour to Portugal in March. Looking at taking my bike. Easy jet charge £70 and Ryan air £100.
How do you get it for £50?
What bike bag are you using?

Hi steve

The picture looks fantastic dry/warm/no pot holes/no cars

I had a bit of a panic friday night and booked my flight plus my bike
We get picked up via mini bus/van at palma airport with the organisation (stuart hall cycling)
One question I have how long are the mountain climbs (above sea level) are there any refreshment places in the mountains ...

Thanks

We did not stay there but it looked fine when we went in. Have a good time, we are back there later in the year.

Hi
Stayed in Pollenca Park and it was good for cyclists - clean, plenty to eat and varied, great secure bike storage in the basement.
From Porto Pollenca you can head off towards the rolling country beyond nearby Alcudia, or head off in the other direction to the mountains. These are lovely climbs - Luc Monastery does food & drinks and further on at the 'Col de as Batala' there is a cafe behind a petrol station. Further into the mountains there's more of a remote feeling until you drop down to Soller or the cluster of cafés at the bottom of the sa calobra....(fantastic descent, challenging return climb...)
The road surfaces are very smooth on the whole and you'll be joined by thousands of roadies from all over Northern Europe hoping to get some sunshine for a week....
