Had a long look through the search function couldnt find any info specific and was getting disheartened reading so much so ill just ask.

Got my first puncture on my Allez today. Got the tire off, took old innertube out all o.k. Got the new inner tube reday now it got tricky, started puuting a bit of air into the tube and was getting nowhere am i missing something it was near on impossible to pump up the tube or eve get anysort of air into it.

I was using just a wrench force atb pump. Shall i just buy a trackstand pump tomorrow and finish off the job?

Did you unscrew the little nipple on the valve first?

that probably explains why I couldn't get my sons tyres pumped up today too! I hate those valves, last time I did it tried to use an adaptor on footpump (was improvising as didn't have right one) and totally knackered the valve. What's wrong with normal valves?

Track pumps (not track stands) are great, but whatever you buy, don't buy an SKS Airworx - they may seem to be of a decent quality but internally they're really badly designed.

I opened it up to see if I could reattach it - you'd think it would screw into something, but nope, it was just pressed into a brittle piece of plastic which broke.

I got an SKS Rennkompressor from Parker International - well pleased with it, FWIW - cost about £36.

On the bike, I carry a Topeak Road Morph G, which is superb.

Silca Pista and Superpista pumps are the bollocks apparently. I got a Superpista while I'm waiting to see if SKS will replace/refund my broken pump
