Handlebar bag used it once then never again.

Thought I hadn't made such a cycling purchase then your post reminded me of my Topeak handle bar bag I bought about 18 months ago. An n+1 purchase. Fitted it. It looked good. Then promptly removed it next day for some reason, can't remember why, maybe it was really crap weather, still can't remember. Anyway I haven't used it since. It sits unused, bagged up, in perfect condition, in the loft ;).

Our current boat, up for sale at the moment. What with broker's fees of about 5k and a 7k depreciation over two years, plus the immense running costs, plus the fact it's been a bone of contention between us, I wish I'd bitten the bullet and retired from sailing before we bought the boat, then Uncle James would have got a nice small monohull that suited him and all would be fine.

No, mine has been excellent and solid enough to use as a 'tribar' on long audax rides. I combines two spacers with one cross bar and it's been as solid as a rock for years and years, despite being removed and refitted dozens of times.

My Minoura space bar has been fine. Really useful freeing up space on the bars.

Ok, fair enough. I wanted to use mine to lift my backup lights above the bar bag on my tourer, but it looked ridiculous when I wasn't using the bar bag. I wasn't impressed with the quality of it, but I suppose in retrospect, it's not really fair to blame Minoura for how it looked on my bike. But I'd have preferred to spend a bit more on one with some kind of quick release mounting mechanism.

I found that I just could not get the chuffing thing tight enough as soon as even a fly landed on it it would drop. I thought the quality was poor and despite others having more success with it than I did I still think it is a **** product.

I believe it is still at the back of the shed where I threw it in anger ;)

A Lottery ticket! Was supposed to be a Lucky Dip, but when I took it back to the Coop on the Monday morning because it hadn't won, you can imagine my anger and distress when they wouldnt refund my pound!

Apparently, the fact that it wasnt a lucky ticket does not mean that it was mis-sold to me.

I explained that had I known this, I wouldn't have made such a reckless purchase in the first place, and the next thing I knew, security had thrown me out!!

Thought everyone should be aware of this high street con!! The bloody cheek!

A perspex Polaris map holder that snapped the minute I stuffed a map under it. Polaris replaced it then I sold the replacement.

Went to an auction and paid too much for an original Paul Sample Ogri cartoon. Owning it hasn't given me the pleasure I thought it would so I'm going to Ebay it.

Did you copy this straight from Viz?

LOL. No - my heads so messed up at work this morning, that I actually thought it up all by myself. Oh dear!!

Got to be my Saracen Instinct. Bought second hand off E***. Adverstised as needing a new chain. Picked it up, brought it home, then had to buy a chain, chainset, rear derailleur and drop out, and rear brake cable. Wanted to buy a regular cheap mtb, so this was a bad choice anyway. Never let on to SWMBO though, life would not have been worth living if I had !!

My 1200 odd 12" singles bought during my youth, "rare imports" amongst them, all in the loft and not been played for
years.

During spells of nostalgia, I have <ahem> download a few I could find and I cannot imagine me ever playing them again.

There's hope Tim.

I bought a used Pompino a few weeks ago. It came with a Brooks saddle. It's sold on Ebay for £41 yesterday. So it's been replaced with a Charge Spoon, and I still had enough left over for Aloo Tikka, Chicken Tikka Korai and a cheese naan.

JTM of this forum took it off my hands. He's very happy with it and said it broke in nicely. That's the thing with a Brooks, it keeps its resale value. Cheese Naan, I've never tried that. I always get a Pashwari Naan.
